Thanks for taking the time to check-in with me here.

It's great that you're looking into becoming an elite fitness professional - the world really needs them!

I hope that you will find some valuable information here about what it takes to 'be more' and some precious insights into the industry.

Below is a collection of thoughts, articles, blogs, FAQs in all shapes and sizes.

Yes, we do offer something very different here - as a fitness provider, we don't really fit in - and with good reason. We don't train thousands of people to train to REPs guidelines... we teach a small amount of people to excel and stand out as successful personal trainers. Below, you can read all about my thoughts about the state of the industry as well as how and why you need to push yourself. After all, in order to get more, you need to 'be more'.

Understanding our business philosophy -
Why business is not a bolt-on, but a fundamental part of our course structure

How you look at business probably depends on your start point. What I mean by this is if you start out asking how do personal trainers achieve success as a personal trainer I believe you would answer 'by understanding and applying principles of business to everything they do'. Whereas if you start out asking what training must I provide to get students to be able to register with REPS you would answer based of listed competences as set out by those setting the standards (who are not experienced personal trainers by the way).

You see our promise is that we will set you up with the right business acumen right from the start and our approach is NOT contrived to try and increase bums on seats at our school.

We don't cover business as an after-thought but as an integral component of our training and done so since we began in 2005. Our intention is to create great trainers. And great trainers understand key principles of business. That is why we train all of our students in business and include 12 months support including the option to attend any or all of the course again for free for life, being able to call in and arrange a call with a business coach when they need it, attend monthly online business seminars and access a whole host of resources including already-prepared health appraisal forms, programme cards, food diaries and done-for-you recipes and more, all as standard.

Why do we do this?

We are very aware of the industry drop-out rate. With as many as 10-20,000 personal trainers qualifying every year in the UK alone perhaps 90% simply don't make the grade and are unable to establish themselves as reputable busy PTs. Indeed, 11,000 fitness professionals in the UK earn less than £10,000 (recent national survey) and we object!

Nearly all of our graduates go on to earn well as sought-after personal trainers and lifestyle coaches and see their initial training to qualify as an investment. They understand that this an investment in themselves and the best return on investment is earning well as a popular and busy PT long after their training.

As I say with us business is not an after-thought but a fundamental aspect of our training and is why we include small group PT, 1/2 hour PT, lifestyle coaching, postural retraining, boxing and mobile PT as standard because it makes business sense to offer superior service right off the bat as a new PT to better establish yourself. It makes business sense.

PS Did you watch our video testimonials on our home page all about their personal training course experience?

We are committed to helping the small amount of trainers we teach, make a big impact in the lives of others.

We make training with EIF an experience.
